The contract was undertaken in 2 phases; a new build Pre-Prep Building and the Enveloping of the existing Duplex Building. The Pre-Prep Building incorporated the construction of a new classroom block 915m2, comprising deep strip foundations; cavity construction external walls with natural stone facings, western red cedar applied panels and full internal refurbishment with associated engineering services.
What was required
The Duplex Building required the enveloping to 690m2 of the existing portakabin buildings; comprising deep strip foundations; structural steel frame; proprietary metal stud wall system external walls with natural stone facings and applied western red cedar panels, pitched roof construction to entrance; proprietary Kingspan multibeam purlin roof with metal deck and sarnafil single-ply coverings to main roof areas, internal alterations together with associated engineering services.
