I&G is supporting the highly anticipated Snowdogs Support Life, Kirklees art trail, which will see 60 decorated sculptures popping up in public spaces across the borough this Autumn.
The team will be working with a local artist to develop an eye-catching design to be displayed on the trail later in the year – sponsoring not one, but two Snowdogs – a Snowdog and a Snowpup.
The Snowpup has been gifted to local school, Whitechapel Church of England Primary School, and the students will be decorating it. The larger Snowdog is ours and working with a local artist, we have picked the design – which is top secret until the art trail goes live!
Our Snowdog is being painted by Harriet Lawson, based in Mirfield. She is a painter and digital artist who has worked on public art commissions and with communities, as well as creating gallery-based work.
The Kirkwood’s Fundraising Manager, Beverley Shaw said:
“We’re delighted to be working with I&G in their 50th Anniversary year. I&G is a fantastic firm with firmly established roots here in Kirklees. It’s a huge year for them, and we’re so pleased that the team chose to help The Kirkwood and have pledged to raise such an incredible amount.
“Without the generosity of local businesses like I&G we couldn’t possibly continue to support people affected by life limited illnesses across Kirklees. I&G are a proud company who love their local community and share our belief that everyone affected by a life limited illness deserves the very best care, wherever and whenever they need it.
“Thank you from everyone at The Kirkwood for all they have already done and are planning to do to help us Support Life.”
Once the trail is over, the small dogs go back to the schools, and the large ones get auctioned in an event to raise additional funds for The Kirkwood.
