The School of Food Science and Nutrition facilities at the University of Leeds are used for research of food science, to address issues of food quality, safety and sustainability, diet quality and consumer behaviour.
The University was looking to convert and refurbish two vacant former laboratories into Nutritional Analysis (Teaching) and Research Laboratories to match previously refurbished laboratories.
Illingworth & Gregory won the work through a competitive tender and had past experience, working on University of Leeds schemes.
The work was undertaken in a live environment which required restraints for delivery and noise to avoid disruption and safety for the occupants of the building.
Any noisy work was done outside of the University hours to ensure minimal disruption. We provided a weekly update to the University to highlight when there were any works coming up that may cause disruption, in order for this to be communicated to the relevant occupiers.
