The contract works followed Listed Building consent approval being obtained for the Burton Gallery, within the Grade II listed building York Art Gallery.
The refurbishment works created a light, fresh and airy space via the incorporation of a new colour scheme, refinishing of the timber flooring and new lighting scheme throughout.
Above the Burton Gallery, the existing glazed panels were all cleaned by hand, new service access routes and walkways were constructed with insulation works being incorporated into the roof sections.
Within the Burton Gallery, one of the existing rotten defective timber trusses was shored up the defective sections removed and new timbers spliced in.
